The Blues were always Jimmy's first love and preference.
Jimmy played in various rock and country bands. He also
started to play jazz. He played in cities such as, New York,
Boston, Washington D.C., Miami, and various other
venues on the eastern seaboard.
After 3 years, Jimmy came back to Libby and played in an Idaho based
Blues Band called, the "Atomic Blues Band," where they took to the
road for a few years as well.
He also played in a house band (blues and rock) for some years
playing drums, along with various bluegrass, rock, and alternative bands.
His experience with different types of music, bands, and style and
stage presence elevated.
Jimmy moved to Kalispell in 1990 and started playing every jam session
he could find. He had played several jam sessions with Kenny and
they both knew they played well together.
He played stand-in bass with Mark Miller, and Steve Kelley in
"Big Daddy and the Blue Notes." Mark and Jim always
played well together.
Jimmy got a call to play with both Ken and Mark at a Blues Fest at
Lake Mary Ronan. At that moment, they all knew then they had to
start their own band. Their combined years of experience
playing and comfort with each other's style, all Blues based,
ignited a spark they had to continue to create.
The Kenny James Miller Band began with the excitement and
the knowledge they had something special.
Jimmy is thrilled to play with Ken & Mark in the Kenny James Miller Band
and eager to play the Blues for you!
